Dead City by Sheila Callaghan is one of the most beloved works to come out of New York City's downtown theatre scene in the last few years. It's a beautiful and authentic portrayal of life in an urban environment in which a middle-aged, professional woman finds herself drawn into the chaos of young street-poet's life. Playwright Sheila Callaghan was recently one of 10 "emerging writers of exceptional talent and promise" to receive a $50,000 Whiting Writers' Award.
Fans of Available Light's previous work and newcomers alike will revel in the visceral extravaganza that is Time and a Few Words. The show will dig deep into the science, philosophy, and subtle political ramifications of time itself.
Militant Language by Sean Christopher Lewis follows a cadre of soldiers as they break the rules and get much too involved with the people and culture that surround them while they're stationed in Iraq.
