Michael Grossberg interviewed playwright Adam Bock and director Matt Slaybaugh for his preview coverage of The Thugs. Here's an excerpt:
Working at a temporary agency while in his mid-30s inspired an up-and-coming New York playwright to write The Thugs, which will launch the season of Available Light theater."You don't really know much (as a temp), because you're not connected," playwright Adam Bock, 45, said from New York.
"One time I went and had a look at one of these law firms that the agency would send people out to. I realized those buildings can become scary because you don't know who's around the corner, who's in the office next to you or where the elevators really go to. . . . It's an unsettling experience."
