Available light [theatre] will present a 4 hour workshop in Viewpoints training in Cincinnati.
This workshop will provide a thorough introduction to Viewpoints training as developed and practiced by Mary Overlie, Anne Bogart, the SITI Company, and many others. Viewpoints is an artist-training method for building ensemble, creating movement for the stage, and heightening one's awareness of time and space. Viewpoints is practiced the world over by artists of all types, but especially actors and dancers.
The workshop will be led by Matt Slaybaugh, who has studied Viewpoints periodically with the SITI company and with his own companies for almost a decade. Matt will be assisted by Acacia Duncan, who has worked with the Viewpoints for 5 years. Matt and Acacia have been creating work together, using Viewpoints training, in BlueForms Theatre Group and now as Available light.
The Cincinnati workshop will take place at the Performance Gallery, April 14, 11am-3pm.
